Health information

This page will be dedicated to relaying all documented health information on puppies/breedings which take place at Tivin Standard Poodles.  Below are listed all the dogs which have been bred under the Tivin name.  Click on the name and a new page will show you a table with all the known statistics for that dog and his/her progeny.  We will list the number of puppies, color and sex statistics, and any documented health information on the puppies.  We challenge every breeder to provide such a list on their websites or informational package.  The only way to combat innuendo and to provide clear and concise information is to publish it publicly and honestly.  We applaud those breeders which have already done so, and in turn join their ranks.  As we have published in many articles, open and honest exchange of information is the only way we will achieve better health for our dogs.  We at Tivin Standards employ genetic testing, pedigree research and breeding statistics to achieve as healthy a litter as possible with each breeding.  We strongly believe in breeding for health, temperament, and type, understanding that puppies are living creatures, and as hard as one tries, problems will still appear if one breeds long enough.  We encourage communication between us and our puppy buyers, and support our puppy families as much as possible when a genetic problem occurs.  We think if you peruse the following pages you will see that while we have had the occasional genetic problem produced, overall we have maintained as healthy a line as possible in a purebred population.  As it will take time to compile the information, we ask that you have patience and check back in the future for updates.
