Gideon lived with the Talbot family in southern Connecticut.  He was a sweet boy and full of fun and adventure.  He finished his conformation title with several BOVs as a puppy and adult.  He passed away suddenly on May 12, 2007.  We do not know his cause of death at this time, but have had a necropsy performed to determine was happened if possible.  He leaves his legacy in his children, Bodie, Leela, Maggie, Percival, Angie and Tula.  We will miss him until the day we join him and all the others before us at the Rainbow Bridge.  His loss has been devastating.

Genetic testing :   PennHIP 70%, OFA Good,  Neonatal Encephalopathy DNA clear, vWD DNA clear, SA normal, thyroid normal, CERF normal.  CHIC number 30154.

Health issues:

None known at this time.  Sudden death on May 12, 2007.  We will publish the necropsy report as soon as we receive the final results.  At this time, gross pathology did not reveal cause of death - the stomach was normal, no evidence of bloat, the heart was normal, abdominal organs and brain appear normal, no evidence of external or internal trauma.  The lungs may indicate some evidence of edema or fluid indicating a possible anaphylactic reaction, but cause is yet to be determined.  The necropsy was performed at the University of Connecticut department of veterinary pathology.  Both histopathology and toxicology results are pending.  All results will be published when received.

Unfortunately, the necropsy report did not give us any answers.  Cause of death is unknown.  The report is in two pages, and published below.
